Blocked Drain Repair for Curl Curl Homes

1000+ five-star reviews

A drain that clears today and blocks again by next month has stopped being a clearing problem.

Cracked joints, roots through a seam, a section that's dropped out of alignment, an eel down the pipe won't touch any of that.

When It Is Time for Blocked Drain Repair

A drain clogging again within days of being cleared is telling you something.

That pattern points to repair, not another clean.

  • The same section has needed clearing more than once in the past year
  • Water backs up faster each time, even right after a clean
  • A camera inspection has already flagged a crack, break or root intrusion
  • Smells or gurgling return within days, not months
  • Ground above the pipe run has started to sink or feels soft underfoot
  • More than one fixture struggles at once, worth checking against our blocked sewer page

If a clean only ever buys a week or two, our CCTV drain inspection finds what's actually wrong before we touch the pipe.

What Our Blocked Drain Repair Work Covers

We fix the pipe, not just what's sitting inside it today. Four jobs sit under this service most often.

No-dig pipe relining. A resin liner sets inside the damaged section, sealing cracks and root entry points without opening the ground.

Excavation repairs. Where a section has caved in or moved out of line, digging up and replacing it beats stretching a liner past its limit.

Junction and joint patches. Smaller, localised repairs where one seam has failed but the rest of the run is sound.

Root-cut section replacement. Roots that have broken a joint, rather than just grown near it, need that stretch cut out and rejoined to stop the cycle for good.

What Affects the Cost of Blocked Drain Repair

A handful of things move a repair quote up or down, and every one gets pointed out before you sign off.

  • Pipe depth, and the length of the section that's actually damaged
  • Relining versus digging up, decided by what the camera shows
  • Ease of reaching the line: a boundary shaft is quick, a run under a driveway is not
  • A single joint patch against a longer stretch needing full replacement
  • One isolated fault versus a pattern repeating further along an older run

Ground close to the old dune line can shift over the decades, so a section near Harbord Road sometimes needs a longer relined run than the original crack suggests. That sits in the quote, never as a surprise afterward.

$0 call-out, a free look on-site, and one signed-off figure before anyone starts. Book online and $50 comes straight off.

What We See in Curl Curl Drains

Being this close to the beach and the old dune areas means windblown and washed-in sand works into drains and gully pits on beachside properties here.

It settles at joints and low points, and on an older run near Harbord Road that grinding exposure has often been wearing at pipe integrity for years before anyone notices a slowdown.

A drain that "just needs another clean" every few months, this close to the old dunes, is usually asking for a proper look at the pipe itself, not another pass with the eel.

How it works

The Process, and What It Typically Takes

1

1. You tell us what's been happening

Repeat blockage, slow drain, a smell that keeps coming back. We ask enough to know what to bring.

2

2. The camera finds the actual fault

Crack, root intrusion, a dropped joint, misalignment. You see the footage, not a guess.

3

3. One figure, signed off before we start

Reline, patch or dig-up, whichever the footage calls for, priced upfront with nothing added later.

4

4. Repair, then proof it worked

The fix goes in, the camera runs the line again, and you watch it happen on screen.

The Rules That Apply in NSW

Drainage repair work in NSW has to be carried out by a licensed plumber, full stop, whether it's a reline, a dig-up or a joint patch.

The stretch between your house and the boundary shaft is on you to maintain and repair.

Past that shaft, the line falls under the water authority's care, not yours. We'll tell you plainly which side of that boundary your fault sits on, so you're never covering something that was never yours to cover.

The Difference on a Blocked Drain Repair Job

Plenty of outfits will clear the blockage and leave the actual fault waiting for you a month later.

We run a camera before we quote, so what you're paying for solves the real problem instead of renting you another few weeks.

Book online for $50 off, and the repair itself carries our full warranty regardless.

Related Work and Surrounding Areas

Not every job starts here. Where a CCTV drain inspection hasn't confirmed the fault yet, that's the honest first step, and if it turns out a clean is genuinely all that's needed, our drain cleaning page covers that instead.

We repair drains across Curl Curl and the surrounding Northern Beaches area, including Freshwater, Dee Why and Brookvale.

Common questions

Common Blocked Drain Repair FAQs

Is it possible to fix a blocked drain without digging up the yard?

Usually. A resin liner goes in through one access point and cures inside the damaged pipe, so paving and garden beds stay untouched. Digging only comes into play once a section has actually caved in.

My drain keeps blocking again even after being cleared, why?

Clearing shifts what's in the pipe right now. Repairing fixes what's wrong with the pipe itself, a crack, a root through a joint, a section out of line. Skip the second step and the first one keeps needing repeating.

What should I have ready before you turn up?

A clear run to wherever the access point sits, boundary shaft or inspection opening, and pets somewhere else for the visit. We handle the rest from there.

If the fault turns out to be in the sewer main, who covers it?

Your side stops at the boundary shaft, and that's what you're on the hook for. Anything past it sitting in the street main is the water authority's problem, not you and not us.

Is there anything I can safely try myself before calling?

A plunger, on one slow fixture, is reasonable. Steer clear of chemical cleaners on anything older than a few decades though, since they attack joints that are already under pressure and can turn a small repair into a bigger one.

How long is a repair covered for afterwards?

For the life of the job, with no expiry. If that section fails again, we're back to sort it, no charge and no argument.
