Common questions
Response Times and Booking
The practical stuff, on getting a plumber to your door.
Do you work weekends and public holidays?
Yes, every weekend and public holiday of the year. Someone picks up the phone, and it is always a plumber, never a recording.
How do I book online?
The contact form takes a couple of minutes, or call (02) 9023 2062 if you would rather talk it through. Booking online also comes with an offer, covered in the pricing questions below.
What counts as a drain emergency?
Sewage coming back up inside the house, a toilet that will not stop overflowing, or stormwater pushing into a living area. A sluggish sink can wait for an ordinary booking slot.
How fast can you get here?
Thirty minutes, guaranteed, for genuine call-outs anywhere across Curl Curl and the streets around it. A backed-up drain does not care what time it is, and neither do we.
Common questions
Pricing, Straight Up
The money questions, without any hourly-rate surprises.
How does the 10% seniors discount work?
Mention it when you call and it comes straight off the fixed price before we start any work. It sits alongside the free quote and the $50 online-booking offer.
What does "$50 off when you book online" cover?
Booking your blocked drain job through the website instead of by phone knocks $50 off the price we quote on-site. The call-out itself was always going to be $0 either way.
Do you charge a call-out fee?
Never. Nobody pays anything just for us turning up and having a look. You only pay once you have signed off on a fixed price.
Is the quote really free?
It is. We have a look, walk you through what we found, and put a fixed number in front of you. Nothing is owed if you decide not to go ahead.
Common questions
Working in and Around Curl Curl
Questions we hear because of where this suburb sits, not from a generic list.
Do tree roots really get into pipes here?
Often, along the leafier streets running down toward Curl Curl Lagoon where established trees and reserve plantings sit close to older sewer lines. A single hair-fine root through a cracked joint is enough to catch debris and start the blockage building.
Do you know Curl Curl's pipe stock?
We see it every week. Original earthenware drainage from the suburb's 1940s to 1960s fibro-and-brick era is still running under plenty of blocks. That includes ones where the house itself has since been knocked down and rebuilt.
Do you work on strata and apartment blocks?
We do, including the walk-up flats near the beach and the lagoon. Shared lines mean we sort out who needs to authorise the work, owner or managing agent, before anything gets touched.
What suburbs do you service?
Curl Curl plus Freshwater, Dee Why, Brookvale, Manly and Beacon Hill.
Common questions
Licensing and Responsibility
Who is allowed to touch what, and what stands behind the work.
What is an overflow relief gully and why does it matter?
It is the domed fitting near an outside wall of your house that lets sewage spill onto the ground instead of flooding back into your bathroom or laundry if the line backs up. A gully bubbling or overflowing on a wet day is usually the first sign something further down needs attention.
Do wipes really block drains?
Constantly, flushable or not, because they hold their shape in water the way toilet paper never does. They snag on the rough seams inside older earthenware pipe and build into a solid plug over a few months.
Can I clear a blocked drain myself?
A plunger on one fixture is worth a try before you call anyone. Chemical cleaners and a hired electric eel are a different story: both can split ageing pipe, and NSW law reserves actual drainage repairs for a licensed plumber anyway.
Are you licensed and insured?
NSW Plumbing Licence #275278C, Master Plumber accredited, and insured for $20 million in public liability on every visit we make.
